Galvanizing
Galvanizing is the coating
of zinc on metal components. The benefits of galvanizing are
that it offers the base materials of all types of components
a protection from corrosive environments where zinc offers
protection from the atmosphere. Galvanizing is primarily coated
in two ways:
Hot Dip Galvanizing where components are dipped in 400-450
Deg celcius molten zinc. This enables the steel to deposit
higher levels of zinc, however, the deposits are not controlled
and tend to be uneven. The higher coating of zinc enables
higher resistance in environments that require extreme protection
from corrosion. Hot Dip however is not proposed for components
that require coating on threaded areas or smaller, leaner
or flexible steel that can get deformed in the high heat
intensive process.
Electro-Galvanizing is suitable for applications that require
a controlled deposit of zinc. The advantage of Electro-Galvanizing
is that the controlled application enables even deposition
all over the material which facilitates further industrial
applications. Electro-Galvanizing is superior to Hot Dip
when it comes to coverage on threaded areas as well as on
delicate or flexible parts. The application ensures full
coverage on all types of steel. Smaller components can be
plated in a control manner, while larger steel components
can acquire more even surfaces. Electro-Galvanizing also
offers a unique finish as post plating passivation (chromating)
enables patrons to select the required color which varies
including: blue, yellow, grey, green and black.
Electro-Galvanizing : Large Components
Marami offers a complete range of options to our patrons
when it comes to Galvanizing. We house one of the largest
setups for electro-galvanizing and carry out work for the
ever consuming construction sectors in the GCC region. Our
tanks of large capacities enabling us to carry out all types
of plating on large angles, channels, frames, housings,
threaded bars, etc. Our setup enables us to work on heavy
components and have galvanized material over 1 ton in weight.
Electro-Galvanizing: Small components
Marami houses the largest setup for smaller threaded components
and small bulky stock. Our 7 rotating barrels enable us
to carry out non stop 24 hours production servicing the
large requirements in the GCC.
Spun Technology: Threaded Components
Marami has recently setup a small Hot Dip bath which caters
to the smaller components that require a high coating deposit
of zinc on the threaded areas. This hot dip bath offers
high coating thickness while ensuring total coverage on
the threaded areas. Marami is one of the few centers in
the region specializing in this technology
